Be Prepared

What to Gather for Your Consultation

Having the right documents ready saves time and ensures your transaction goes through without delays. Here's exactly what you need for each service.

Why This Matters

The most common reason DMV transactions get delayed or rejected is missing or incorrect documents. As a licensed DMV Services Agency, we review everything before submission — but we need the originals to work with. Use the checklists below to make sure you're ready.

Document Checklists

What You Need by Service

Title Transfer — Private Party Sale

  • Original vehicle title (signed by the seller on the back)
  • Valid government-issued photo ID (buyer and seller)
  • Odometer disclosure (usually on the back of the title)
  • Bill of sale (recommended, required if title is missing purchase price)optional
  • Proof of Nevada insurance (if registering at the same time)optional

The title must be signed by the seller exactly as the name appears on the front. Any corrections or white-out will cause rejection.

Title Transfer — Out of State

  • Original out-of-state title
  • Valid government-issued photo ID
  • Proof of Nevada insurance
  • VIN inspection (we can coordinate this)
  • Odometer disclosure
  • Smog/emissions certificate if applicableoptional

Out-of-state titles must be original — no photocopies. If your title has a lien, you'll need a lien release letter from your lender.

Vehicle Registration — New

  • Original title or Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin (MCO)
  • Valid government-issued photo ID
  • Proof of Nevada insurance
  • Smog/emissions certificate (if required for your vehicle)optional
  • VIN inspection (for out-of-state vehicles)optional

Nevada requires proof of insurance at the time of registration. Make sure your policy lists the correct vehicle VIN.

Vehicle Registration — Renewal

  • Renewal notice from the Nevada DMV (if received)optional
  • Valid government-issued photo ID
  • Proof of Nevada insurance
  • Smog/emissions certificate (if required)optional

Don't have your renewal notice? No problem — we can look up your record with your plate number or VIN.

VIN Inspection

  • The physical vehicle (must be present for inspection)
  • Original out-of-state title or MCO
  • Valid government-issued photo ID

The vehicle must be physically present for a VIN inspection. We coordinate the inspection appointment and handle all paperwork.

Notary Services

  • Valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID)
  • The document(s) to be notarized — unsigned (do not sign before the appointment)
  • Any additional signers must also be present with their own valid ID

Do not sign your documents before the appointment — the notary must witness your signature. Documents signed in advance cannot be notarized.

Loan Signing

  • Valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID
  • Signing package from your title company or lender (we'll coordinate receipt)
  • Cashier's check or wire confirmation if funds are due at closingoptional
  • Any co-borrowers must also be present with valid IDoptional

We coordinate directly with your title company or lender to receive the signing package. You just need to show up with your ID.

Pro Tips

General Tips

Always bring originals — photocopies are not accepted by the Nevada DMV for most transactions.

Make sure names match exactly across all documents. Discrepancies between your ID and title will cause delays.

If your vehicle has a lien (loan), contact your lender before your consultation to confirm what's needed.
